Collisions between motorcycles and other motor vehicles can be a very serious type of auto accident. Such motor vehicle accidents can sometimes result in motorcyclists suffering severe injuries. This can be seen in a motorcycle accident that occurred last week in Oregon. The accident happened on August 15 in Silverton, Oregon. Reportedly, that day, a motorcycle was travelling along C Street. The motorcycle was being operated by a 54-year-old man. According to authorities, a collision then occurred between the motorcycle and a pickup truck that was turning onto the street. The pickup truck was being driven by a 22-year-old woman. According to the article on the Statesman Journal’s website which reported this story, authorities have issued a traffic citation to the 22-year-old woman in connection to this accident. The 54-year-old man sustained serious injuries in this motor vehicle collision. He was hospitalized after the crash. The 22-year-old woman reportedly did not suffer any injuries in the accident. As this crash shows, collisions between motorcycles and other motor vehicles can result in motorcyclists getting seriously hurt. Because motorcycle accidents can be so harmful, it is very important for motor vehicle drivers in Oregon to do everything they reasonably can to prevent motorcycle accidents when out on the roads. This includes exercising appropriate care when performing maneuvers such as turns. It also includes obeying all applicable traffic laws when driving. If motor vehicle drivers fail to do these things, they could be putting the safety of motorcyclists they share the roads with at risk.
